Marvel's very own superhero, Wolverine aka Logan is preoccupied with awful memories. Following the demise of his love, Jean, Wolverine had been living in solitude. The film starts off with a nightmare, in the erstwhile Nagasaki, Japan where Logan had saved the life of a young soldier, Yashida after a deadly atom bomb was dropped in 1945. After Logan shields Yashida against the fatally blistering bomb attack, Yashida witnesses the self-repairing powers of Logan. In order to assail a grizzly hunter, the then unsocial Logan trails him at a nearby bar. At the same bar, he encounters a young Japanese lady, Yukio who informs him that a moribund Yashida (The same soldier whom Logan had saved years ago) is her employer. Yukio also adds that she has been tracking Logan since a year assenting to Yashida's request, who wants to express his final adieu to Logan. Yukio supplicates Logan to accompany her to Tokyo. Subsequently, he agrees to visit Yashida. In Tokyo, Logan gets acquainted with Yashida's granddaughter and his oncologist. Yashida asks Logan to protect his granddaughter after his death. He also collogues to Logan that he can turn him into a mortal human being by terminating his undying virtue, the power which allows him to heal apace. Logan turns down his covetous offer. Amidst all this, Yashida's treacherous oncologist (a Viper) intoxicates Logan with her malignant mist in his dream. Logan awakens to find that Yashida had passed away only a moment ago. The mist devitalizes Logan and he becomes susceptible to damages. Will he be able to track down the source of his health peril & retrieve his superpowers? Answer lies within the film.A few brilliantly elaborated action sequences enrich the cinematic experience. For instance, the thrilling fight atop a bullet train and Wolverine's combat with the robust 'Silver Samurai', will leave you gobsmacked !Hugh Jackman reprises the title role with sheer proficiency. Whether an emotional sequence or a fierce confrontation, he outmatches his co-stars. His sturdy physique makes him look formidable. And why not? Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, the buff wrestler turned actor, had suggested Hugh a diet to build lean muscles.Except some dreary nightmares where Logan converses with Jean, the film is engrossing. Also, 3D doesn't have any powerful impact on the cinematography. But overall, director James Goldman has left a flawless imprint on the minds of X Men fansGo for it !
